About the Podcast

Your host, Timea E Nagy, a human trafficking survivor and best-selling author, was trafficked at the age of 21. Shortly after her escape, she met a police officer and an immigration officer, who quickly became her only support and lifeline for the coming years. She often credits them for her emotional recovery at the time.

She founded an organization and spent 6 years as a Mobile Crisis support worker. After its closure, she traveled globally to educate first responders and service providers on trauma-informed victim care and self-care. Timea honors those who supported her and aims to prevent burnout and emotional struggles. Her teachings offer effective tools for de-escalating situations, targeting first responders, frontline workers, and service providers working with victims.
We will discuss survivors' perspectives, trauma care, self-care, burnout, and vicarious trauma, with occasional guest speakers addressing current affairs and popular listener topics.
